Council Meeting Highlights
September 13, 2004
Approved job descriptions for the Director of Music, Sexton and Church Secretary. Also approved updated contract terms for these three positions, as well as an evaluation form that will be utilized to provide performance feedback annually for these employees.
Pastor Gwenn reported that Zion will serve as a teaching parish site to provide field education to a Gettysburg Seminary student. Our student's name is Sadie Pounder and she will join us on Sunday, September 19. The Fellowship Committee will be arranging lunches with congregation members. There will be a sign up sheet for those interested. We hope that she will have the opportunity to share a meal with each of our Zion families.
Council recognizes that we have been unsuccessful in finding a volunteer within our congregation to serve as treasurer. Because the Treasurer position requires accounting skills and experience, it is now believed that we may need to consider "outsourcing" this accountability. If you know of anyone in the community that may be a viable option for us to contact to discuss further, please advise Pastor Gwenn or John Shutika.
Discussed the budget process and set the following dates (committee chairs please take note). Budget requests from committees are due to the Finance Committee on October 24. Council will meet on November 15 to approve the budget. Proposed budget and other annual meeting information will be mailed to members of the congregation by November 24 for their review prior to the congregational budget meeting scheduled for December 12.
In the near future you will receive a church records update packet to complete. It is important that the information we have on you is accurate and up to date. We will appreciate your willingness to complete these in a timely manner.
