Council Meeting Highlights

July 12, 2004

* Lori Plumley reported the personnel task group met and is in the final phases of completing the Church Secretary job description and the contracts for the Church Secretary, Sexton and Director of Music. The task group also is in the process of designing an annual job evaluation format that can be used for these positions.

* Bruce Deveney represented the Worship and Music Committee. His presentation facilitated further discussions regarding adding an additional worship service. While such a consideration may seem straightforward or easy to accomplish, there are many variables and logistics that must be determined prior to advancing further discussions and possible implementation. Of considerable concern was that while a second service will lend more flexibility to the present congregation, will it enable outreach to the community and facilitate growth of the church? Discussions will continue and evaluation will continue. Any thoughts you may have should be discussed with a member of council or Worship & Music committee.

* Tina Kelly represented the Primary Sunday school department. She provided a recommendation from the Christian Education Committee that resulted in the council approving several location changes for the various church classes. These location changes will assist in keeping the fellowship hall set-up and breakdown for/from events more efficient and with little disruption prepping for the previous classroom area.

* Preliminary discussion was held on the condition of the church roof and the possible repair or replacement needed.
