Council Meeting Highlights
November 8, 2004
Voted to approve Lynn Placzek to fill the Council vacancy.
Under the Worship and Music Committee's report, Council voted not to pursue a proposed second worship service at this time due to budget constraints.
The Treasurer reported that the loan for the organ officially has been paid off. Because it was paid off within four and a half years, it actually saved $19,839.00 in interest charges. Congratulations to all contributors in making this an extremely successful project.
A reminder was issued that since the Organ Fund is closed, any future organ donations will be applied to the Building Fund, unless another fund is specifically designated.
The Property Committee reported that the exterior restoration project is completed. The original amount projected was $28,775.00, with the knowledge that there may be additional costs to repair the bell tower. Since additional repairs were encountered for the bell tower ($2,257.43) the result is the total cost of $31,032.43. The Property Committee and Council wanted to acknowledge and thank the Cemetery Committee for loaning the church $10,500.00 to cover what is owed on the exterior restoration project. This loan will be paid over a 5-year period at $198.00 per month. The loan is at a 5% interest rate and will amount to $1,389.00 interest. Members may assist in paying off this loan by making contributions to the Building Fund.
